We are Kids Unlimited!
The Kids Unlimited Foundation is a non-profit organization formed to benefit children stricken with cancer. Kids Unlimited became a 501(c)(3) organization in 1994 when caring individuals, of whom several were parents of children with cancer, founded a grassroots organization with the hope to provide children a reprise from cancer and an opportunity to be free of the harsh treatment regiment. Through these efforts, Kids Unlimited joins over 250 families together for consistent family-oriented activities.
So often, children with a life-threatening disease become caught up in a world of pain, hospitals and limitations. Our foundation focuses on providing family-oriented activities that allow these children to experience a fun outing in an atmosphere of friends where their illness can be forgotten, at least for a while. These events are designed to include the whole family; the patient, siblings and parents. This allows the brothers and sisters to have a family experience beyond the shadow of cancer and gives the parents a much needed respite. We believe the entire family should be included because each member is affected by this illness. We also encourage those families who have lost their child to cancer to remain a part of our foundation as member families and be included in all the family events and activities.
Some of our events include catfish and bass tournaments; outings to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, Astros, Dynamo and Rockets games as well as family camp and holiday parties. We are the only group of its kind in Houston and the surrounding areas which consistently provides “family” activities for kids with cancer.
